Spring had 'sprung' and it was time to get out of town and into the wilderness.  For a few years my friends and I have made Joshua Tree our first destination of the camping / backpacking season.  This year we were there for Easter weekend and the weather was great.

Other Stuff:

The LA Times has started an experiment by filling a fish tank with LA River water (notoriously dirty) and stocking it with a few goldfish.  The idea is to see how long they'd last.  So far they've made it for about 6 weeks.
